fish in appearance and character

I finally chose flat open water just past the roots which defined the shape of the fish and the structure

rock piles and submerged roots are ideal structures for sheltering small bait fish

I wanted to create motion and action

a pushing tide and as can be imagined the volume of water funneling through

experience some of the harshest conditions in the country with strong winds and bad weather giving the water a characteristic murk of suspended debris and turbulence

relying on their lateral line as they hunt in low light conditions

some are long-distance travelers and others silent and stealthy hunters

the focus though being on the payara and piranha

spots and edges are so intense that it is as if the colours are lit up from beneath the skin
