Renaudin Blanc De Blancs Brut Nature Champagne 2005The class of the origin shows through palpably in this wonderfully chiselled, vibrant and long lasting cuve, which has many, many years of life ahead of it. Three separate lots of 2005 wines, each stemming from a particular vineyard holding. The exercise was not repeated, even though all three wines were truly excellent. But the jewel in the crown was Lot 56, which hailed from a prize parcel in Cramant that was subsequently lost after a split in the

honey and dried fruit (roasted almonds)

The result is a wondrously refreshing gin with a delightfully floral aroma

TASTING: “A complex nose of ripe pear and brioche with zesty minerality on the palate and chalky soil notes

and a wet stone minerality to finish

Though the Camut family is known for its exceptional Pays d’Auge distillates

spicy botanicals such as cocoa

and slightly sweet

and we suspect that it will be much more open knit from regular sized bottle-- tremendous stuff here
