The boy is melancholy and appears to be deep in thought over whatever it is he is reading

I imagine the craftsmen who made this was somewhat of a perfectionist

upon two double sided door panels in forest green from a large cupboard or cabinet of the period

around 10% of the total

The turn of the century period male vent figure of early build in very original condition

There is a small strip section of replacement wood to the base which is pine

5” Wide x 9” Deep

and six others are hanged for their part in the previous year's Despard Plot which was the last time anyone has been sentenced to be hanged

These pictures are a charming attempt to replicate the idea of keeping an exotic bird

with Christ looking to the heavens

which is now absent

Sometimes the image is shown shining within the bosom of Christ with his wounded hands pointing at the heart
